Neptune Krill Oil: Why Every Body Needs It

January 31st, 2009 | admin | Neptune Krill Oil

Antarctic Pure Krill Oil (NKO) is remarkable, to say the least, for the wide-ranging health benefits it brings to people everywhere. According to the manufacturer, we’ll soon be seeing it in medicinal-pharmaceutical applications and in functional foods.

Krill oil for healthMedical scientists have long concluded that two principal ways to support optimal health involve adequate consumption of omega-3 essential fatty acids and antioxidants. Krill oil contains the most potent form of both. It’s been on the market since 2002 when Neptune Biotech of Canada introduced it in softgel capsules, but physicians have been so accustomed to recommending fish oil that to this day in 2011 as I update this post, supplementing with krill oil is only beginning to be seen more widely as an everyday essential. Yet every body needs it every day for its truly superior effectiveness and safety.

To put it most simply, omega-3 essential fatty acids are essential to our survival as they are critical nourishment for all of our cells. Antioxidants protect the cells from damage caused by the free radicals that we get mostly from environmental pollution, smoking and processed foods. Free radicals have been identified as the cause of premature aging, but in addition, because they weaken the cell structure, the damage they cause opens the way for degenerative disease to take hold.

NKO Neptune Krill OilSince the body can’t make omega-3 essential fatty acids, you have to consume them as food and supplements. Principal sources include flax seed, nuts, eggs, fish and marine oils. But most people are deficient in omega-3s. Krill oil is the ideal way to fill this gap. Already, it has been clinically proven superior to fish oil in reducing LDL (bad) cholesterol and raising HDL (good) cholesterol levels. It has also been clinically proven to reduce inflammation and joint discomfort and the symptoms of post-menstrual syndrome (PMS). Small studies have shown it to be beneficial to bone health and brain health. Krill oil has even been shown to lower blood pressure.

Neptune krill oil is sold under the private labels of several different companies, but the addition of the NKO trademark will identify it as the Neptune brand.

What others are Saying…

Omega Fatty Acids and Brain Evolution The algae trapped the sun’s energy by photosynthesis and converted this to complex molecules, including proteins, carbohydrates, and lipids that were rich in n-3 (omega 3) fatty acids.

Free Radicals, Antioxidants, Aging and Disease Free radicals are a problem for most of us. Their release is triggered in response to breathing, unhealthy foods, overexercising, exposure to toxins, and environmental pollution.

What are Free Radicals Free radicals are very unstable molecules which can cause damage within the body and are linked to several different types of cancer.

Neptune Krill Oil Wages War on Inflammatory Diseases

January 30th, 2009 | admin | Neptune Krill Oil

Neptune Krill Oil (NKO) has been on the market since 2002 in the form of the first capsules ever made from Antarctic krill.  Many clinical tests have shown it to be far superior to fish oil in every respect for supporting human health in such areas cholesterol, cardiovascular, joint and brain health to name a few. Here we look at one of this new marine oil’s most important ingredients: omega-3.

Omega-3 supplementsNo matter what your age or gender, there’s one thing your body must have: omega-3 essential fatty acids (EFAs). But your body can’t make them for you. So you must get them from food and supplementation.

Essential fatty acids are mostly omega-3 and -6 EFAs that come from the oils of plants, fish and tiny shrimp-like cold water crustaceans called krill. Let’s look at essential fatty acids and why it makes sense to choose krill oil as the very best source.

The three major omega 3s are alphalinolenic acid (ALA); eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA); and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA).

Omega-6 fatty acids help omega-3s to help the body, but you need to get them in the right balance. The improper balance between them is known to lead to disease, but the right ratio can support good health. Why? Because omega-3 reduces inflammation, and omega-6 heats it up. Many researchers blame too much omega-6 in the typical USA diet for today’s epidemic of inflammatory disorders. Much of it comes from vegetable oils, for example. Too much inflammation leads to pain and many serious diseases.

But knowing exactly how much of which foods to eat in order to get the right balance isn’t easy. In NKO supplements, however, you can clearly see the omega 3/6 ratios on the label. Unlike plant or fish oil, the omega-6 content is about as low as it gets and the ratio is the best you can possibly buy.

NKO is now waging a very effective war against inflammatory and other diseases* and is well on its way to applications in pharmaceuticals and functional foods.

What makes it better than fish oil? Just three of several reasons: It has 48 times more antioxidant power and is much more absorbable. Its EFAs are bound with phospholipids instead of the triglycerides of fish oil. And it’s phospholipids that are the very foundations of cell membranes in the human body.
krill oil crosses blood-brain barrier
The bonding of omega-3 EFAs and its phospholipids gets antioxidants through the wall of the intestines and into your cells. It also crosses the blood-brain barrier and into your brain cells. And that’s one reason it’s entirely unique and so effective. It nourishes and strengthens every cell in your body* because it’s at least 98% bioavailable (compared to fish oil at 65%).

In addition to just plain good health, a great number of health concerns* can be helped by taking krill oil supplements each and every day for the rest of your life.

Neptune Krill Oil capsules are sold by several major brands under their own private labels, but they will always show the “NKO” trademark on the label.
